The unique architecture that we have inherited means that there are steps at every point from the entrance to the rooms and even within some of the rooms. This makes us not particularly suitable for wheelchair users. For those with restricted mobility let us know your limitations and we can recommend the most appropriate room for your needs.
While we welcome families to share the unique experience of the Galle Fort Hotel we regret that we cannot accept reservations with children under 6 years of age. Younger families are more than welcome to join us for lunch or dinner in our restaurant.
Like many boutique hotels in Sri Lanka we do not have the facility to accommodate drivers. However there are many guest houses in and around the fort that cater for this need. Most drivers/guides have their preferred lodging options in each location and we advise that they book ahead, especially in high seasons.
We do not have televisions in any of the rooms nor do we have any other television set on the premises. However we do have complimentary wi-fi so that you can catch up with news, events and sports results.
Yes, we do have mini fridges in all the rooms.
Our chefs are very accomplished and are happy to offer alternatives from our main menu selections for those who, for whatever reason, may have a restricted diet. They are used to catering to coeliacs, vegetarians, vegans, nut-allergy sufferers and more besides.
We want every guest to enjoy an equally good rest and for that reason we do not have rollaway beds nor do we put mattresses on the floor. One extra bed is provided for one Loft Suite at any one time. It is a full sized single bed with a proper heavy wooden frame and deep mattress.
Due to limitations of space we do not have an onsite spa. However there are spa facilities available elsewhere in the fort that provide an excellent service and we are happy to recommend.
